Lancelot Du lac – bidding for hat-trick
LANCELOT DU LAC has been in terrific form on the all-weather this year and bids for a hat-trick when up against seven rivals in the 5f Listed race at Lingfield today (2.05pm).
Winner of six of his last seven all-weather encounters, he has to carry a 3lb penalty for his latest win at strictly at the weights, he “can’t” win. However, the 7yo son of Shamardal is nothing but gutsy and with Robert Winston on board, he should run his race and go close.
Big danger on ratings and at the weights is Godolphin’s Pretend but despite drifting out to 7/2, Lancelot may defy his penalty.
Earlier in the day (1.30pm) also at LIngfield, Badenscoth makes his debut in a mile maiden but the Foxwedge gelding is likely to have better opportunities. Jack Duern rides the 50/1 shot.
