WOODY STEPPING BACK UP TO SEVEN FURLONGS

Dancinginthewoods – runs at Newmarket

DANCINGINTHEWOODS steps up to 7f for the first time since he ran over the trip at Doncaster in the spring of last year, when one of seven runners in the 0-85 handicap at Newmarket this evening.

Both his last two jockeys have felt an increase in trip would help and the 5yo son of Garswood, who likes Newmarket, does have good form at the track over the distance.  He just needs to settle but Stefano Cherchi (claiming 3lbs) rides the horse at home and hopefully the pair can get covered up and make their move late on.

It’s a tough seven-runner contest with Hollie Doyle riding the worthy favourite, Nizaaka, who is bidding for a hat-trick for trainer, Jane Chapple-Hyam.  Other interesting runners in the race include MIck’s Dream and Godolphin’s well-backed Rich Waters.

“Woody” is weak in the market at 7/1 but a couple of bookmakers are offering each-way terms first three, so that price seems quite generous.

Amy has two other runners, today, both at Wolverhampton.  Sunset is a 40/1 chance in the 2.45, a 0-65 handicap with George Wood on board while Turbo Tiger makes his debut in an eight-runner 5f novice at 3.55pm under Connor Beasley.  Although the latter is having his first run, he has been well supported into 4/1.

Good luck to connections of all runners, particularly Solario Racing (Ashridge) with Dancinginthewoods.
