PAUL WEBBER looks to have a stable star in the making with GWAFA, whose impressive win in a two mile novice hurdle at Huntingdon yesterday may put him in the frame for a tilt at this year’s Aintree Festival.

The five-year-old son of Tamayuz followed up his facile 15 length success at Fakenham last month with a six length beating of John Ferguson’s Blue Rambler, despite carrying a seven pounds penalty.

Rated 92 on the flat when trained by Marco Botti, this exciting prospect looks to be improving fast over obstacles and he must surely be a consideration for the two mile Top Novices’ Hurdle on the Friday of Aintree, upgraded for the first time this year to a Grade One.
