FIRST time out winner Vilette looks to have a lot on her plate this evening when the Dean Ivory-trained and owned filly runs in a Kempton handicap at 6.45pm.
She is running off a mark of 80 and although there are only five opponents, they include a hot favourite in the form of Big Challenge, a first time out winner for Godolphin who cost 230,000gns as a yearling. They also include a Frankel colt, Monarchs Glen who was narrowly beaten on his debut before landing the odds next time up.
Villette won at 20/1 at Kempton and she may have to confound similar odds if securing victory tonight as she has drifted out to 16/1. Tonight’s trip of 1m3f is a furlong shorter but there is plenty of speed in the pedigree, so that shouldn’t be a problem.
If she wins tonight, Dean has another potential superstar on his hands!
