Tropics – runs at Chelmsford
VETERARAN sprinter Tropics may be ten but he still retains plenty of ability and has an each-way chance at Chelmsford tonight in a five furlong handicap due off at 7.20pm.
One of seven runners, he’s drawn five and is a three times course winner, twice over the distance. Last time out he finished lame but forgive that run and at 9/1, he’s a big price under Robert Winston. the chief threat could be Corinthia Knight.
At Newmarket, Hayley Turner will need all her powers of feminine persuasion to get Soaring Spirits home in the mile handicap at 7pm. The 8yo Tamayuz gelding is having his first turf race of the year and he’s an 80/1 chance. He’s a risky proposition and the price probably tells its own story.
