LANCELEOT DU LAC may not be getting any quicker at the age of 10 but he’s looking dangerously well handicapped today as he looks to get back on the winning trail for the first time since April 2018 when lining up for a 6f handicap at Chelmsford, due off at 6.15pm.
The 13-times winner has won three times at the Essex track including once over course and distance and while he probably is on the downgrade, he looks a tempting each-way proposition today off 92 under Shane Kelly who rode him last time out.
It’s an open contest as reflected in that the market is 9/2 the field but at 17/2, the old boy may be worth an each-way chance.
The other stable runner today, also at Chelmsford (7.15pm), is Eljaddaaf who is the 25/1 outsider in a mile handicap. It’s probably not his ideal trip and he’s weak in the market. Joey Haynes rides.
