VENA D’AMORE takes her chance in today’s Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury today (3.35pm).
The valuable sales race, worth a total of £250,000 has prize money down to 10th place, so despite being 100/1 the lightly-raced Vena D’Amore will go to post despite the ground being probably firmer than ideal.
The 2yo bay filly owned by Heather & Michael Yarrow, showed nothing in her first two runs but was beaten a head on soft ground at Doncaster over five furlongs last time out. She has it all to do under jockey Sam Hitchcott but Richard Hannon Snr won the race with a 100/1 shot, Lady Livius in 2003, so will lightning strike twice?
It’s a very competitive race and the stable runner has to cope with conditions and improve, so she is up against it but hopefully, she can bag some prize money.
