VARSOVIAN AND MIMRAM CHANCES FOR JACK

Jack Duern - two good rides at Chelmsford

Jack Duern – two good rides at Chelmsford

DEAN runs four today, two at Windsor (Villette and Capparnanty Con) and two at Chelmsford (Varsovian and Mimram) and the two runners at the Essex track have each-way chances for apprentice Jack Duern.

Varsovian is one of eight in the 6f claimer due off at 3.15pm and the course and distance winner is well in at the weights with most of his opponents apart from big danger Agueroo.  At 8/1 the stable runner looks overpriced and he has sound each-way claims.

Mimram, a model of consistency this season, being placed in all six starts this year, also has an each-way chance at 9/2 in the fillies’ handicap at 4.25pm.  The Prescott horse, Dutch Monarch, has been well supported at 5/2 and is a threat on her handicap debut.

At Windsor, Rob Hornby rides Villette in the 1m3 1/2 furlong seven-runner handicap, due off at 2.30pm.  If one forgives her last run on heavy ground at Chepstow, she could surprise at 16/1.

Rob Hornby is also aboard 33/1 chance Cappananty Con in the 6f handicap at 5.55pm.  The grey son of Zebedee has never on the grass in nine attempts and his odds suggest he’ll struggle today.  However, the good ground should suit and if the hood works, who know, he may surprise but it is taking a leap of faith.
