UNSTABLE WEATHER…BUT HAVE A STABLE VISIT!

Harper Lodge Farm Stables

WAVES continue to crash upon the now disused and defunct railway line at Dawlish Warren.  The Royal Marines have been dispatched from Taunton to fill sandbags in the worst affected areas of Somerset.  The country has apparently been battered by the biggest wave in history, a staggering 75ft “monster”, just hours before a huge Atlantic superstorm is due to wreak its worst at mainland Britain.

Oh and a few race meetings have been cancelled along the way!

Never mind.  Let’s be very British and stoic about what is an incredibly wet winter.  Unless you’re trying to get into London on the tube, the world moves on.  (Apparently, yesterday’s tube strike cost the capital £50 million – I’m not disputing the accuracy of the stats but how do they arrive at these figures?)

Trainers these days are probably spending more time listening to weather forecasts than watching their horses on the gallops.  The latter part of this statement assumes the gallops have not been washed away!

Dean Ivory’s gallops have fortunately not been washed away but Dean has told me the digger has been in action repairing the wetter areas and replenishing the all-weather surface.

Wind, rain (or shine?) the show goes on and Solario Racing’s diary is filling up nicely with people wishing to come round to visit Dean Ivory’s Harper Lodge Farm Stables.  Why not join them?

As well as having the opportunity to see around the 120-acre private training establishment, you can see two very interesting and exciting horses we have available for syndication in twelfth shares.

Amadiva is a beautifully-bred 3yo filly by Amadeus Wolf, out of Divine Quest (trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil) and a half-sister to 7 winners. She has always shown plenty at home and we are looking forward to seeing her on the turf.

Thewayyouare has made a fantastic start to his stallion career, siring the very impressive Toast Of New York, rated 111+ by Timeform.  Solario Racing has a very imposing 2yo by Thewayyouare out of a Desert Prince mare from the family of several Group One winners including subsequent sire, Groom Dancer.

If you would like to dip your toe into the water (excuse the topical meteorological pun!) of racehorse ownership….why not come and have a stable visit and see some potential stars of the future?
