UNEXPOSED RAVENS HEARTS INTERESTING AT KEMPTON

Tagula Night - well handicapped

Tagula Night – well handicapped

RAVENS HEART is one of two Dean Ivory runners tonight at Kempton and the unexposed 4yo Dansili gelding could be of interest making his handicap debut in the 7.55, a “hands and heels” apprentice race.

Running off a mark of 50, he has not shown a lot to date in three races at Windsor but the all-weather may bring about some improvement.  Manuel Fernandes takes the ride, claiming three pounds and this young apprentice has ridden four winners from just ten rides for his principal trainer, Sir Mark Prescott.  At 12/1, Ravens Hearts may be worth a second look each-way.

Tagula Night is Dean’s other runner when contesting a 6f handicap at 6.25 under Steve Drowne.  At ten years of age, the nine times winner is not getting any younger and his last win was over course and distance 18 months ago.  However, that was off a mark, 15lbs lower than today, so he’s well handicapped and well drawn in  one.

The 14/1 shot is a risky proposition but he’s off his lowest ever mark (68) and will probably spring a surprise at some point.  Interestingly, Robert Winston rides the top-weight, Be Royale, an 11/2 shot for Michael Appleby.
