TWIN SAILS SELLS FOR NEARLY SIX TIMES PURCHASE PRICE!

Twin Sails – sold for 148,000 guineas

TWIN SAILS, a dual-2yo winning son of Sir Percy, part-owned by Ken Ivory and trained by son and trainer, Dean Ivory, was sold today at Newmarket for 148,000 guineas, nearly six times his purchase price of 25,000 guineas.

He was the 7th top-selling lot on Day Two of the prestigious Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale at Newmarket, despite going through the ring eight lots from the end in the “graveyard shift”.

Two wins and seven places with earnings of £83,000 were always likely to make this 95-rated 3yo an attractive proposition and Stroud Coleman Bloodstock clearly thought so as they were the eventual successful bidders.

While Dean has lost a top-rated horse, formerly rated 105, this was a shrewd move by connections to reap a near six-fold profit on a horse who had dropped 10lbs on official figures.

I was with Ken at the October Yearling Sales and he was very sweet on the Zebedee colt bought by Solario Racing.  If we had not bought him, he would have stepped in as Dean was very keen to train him. Ken is a very good judge of a horse and shrewd to boot, so I’m delighted we have his endorsement.

The son of Zebedee out of a winning Shamardal mare, a full and half-brother to two winners from two runners is available in 1/12th shares.  Please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 to arrange a private viewing.
