Tropics – run at Haydock
TROPICS has been a great servant to the yard and the veteran 12yo travels to Haydock today for the 1.40, a 6f handicap in a bid to win his first race on the grass since 2015.
Still rated 104 on the all-weather (his last five wins have all come on an artificial surface at Chelmsford) he is rated 90 on the turf and if he could recapture some of his old turf form, he looks dangerously treated.
Sophie Ralston rides the son of Speightstown who is weak in the market at 40/1 but Sophie is more than capable of spring a surprise or two at big prices, so there could be worse each-way bets at 40/1.
No Inquests makes his 2yo debut at Windsor in a 6f novice at 4.55pm and is 100/1. The Dandy Man gelding will have easier opportunities. George Downing rides.
