TROPICS is the rank outsider at Kempton tonight in a 6f handicap (6.45pm) and has drifted like the proverbial barge in the betting, out to 33/1.
The price is rather insulting to the veteran sprinter but as seen with Lancelot Du Lac yesterday, these older sprinters are very susceptible to younger legs.
The 12yo son of Speightstown has the ability to cause an upset but if the market is right, the mount of George Downing is up against it tonight.
One who has been supported is Amanda Perrett’s Open Wide, in from 28/1 to around 12/1, although stablemate Tinto might also have a say.
