DEAN sends Tropics all the way to York today for a Listed race over 6f at 2.55pm but the 28/1 outsider of five has it all to do to beat the odds-on favourite, Limato.
The veteran sprinter is currently rated 105 compared with the 114-rated Limato yet the conditions of the race mean the Harper Lodge 10-y-o is only getting 3lbs from the Henry Candy runner. The other three runners are rated 105, so it’s difficult to predict the runner-up spot but on the face of it, the race is Limato’s to lose.
The ground is Good to Soft which will suit and Robert Winston, who knows the horse well, is in the saddle. Hopefully, Tropics, who was in good form on the all-weather in the first half of the year with three wins, can bounce back to from on the turf.
