TOAST OF NEW YORK just missed out on Group One Breeders’ Cup Classic glory at Santa Anita in the early hours this morning when beaten a nose!
Jamie Osborne’s globe-trotting 3yo by Thewayyouare was having his first run on the dirt but took to the surface really well under Jamie Spencer and just missed failed to reel in the winner Bayern. Nevertheless, he still landed over £1/2 million for owner Michael Buckley to take the horse’s career earnings to over £1.4 million.
Toast Of New York is from the first crop of Coolmore stallion Thewayoyouare. Solario Racing has a 3yo in training with Dean Ivory, King’s Concerto, from the stallion’s second crop. He had just two runs last year but was quite weak, so we put him away for the winter.
There are limited shares available in King’s Concerto, so if you wish to dip your toe into racehorse ownership, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 for details.
