THREE WINNERS FROM LAST TEN RUNNERS

THE London bus syndrome springs to mind with the recent record at Bowstridge Farm.  One waits ages for a winner and then three come along all at once!

Midnight Spirit became the yard’s third winner from its last ten runners when he trotted up at Towcester yesterday in a two mile handicap hurdle under Hadden Frost.  It may have been the 12-year-old’s 42nd outing and he may have only won once before but yesterday was only his fourth race for the yard.

The horse was well handicapped but there was doubt in some quarters as to whether the Good to Soft ground was ideal, given that most of his form has been on a sound surface.  However, he duly obliged at 17/2 to give owner Steve Day a winner and continue the stable’s good run in February.  Clearly the cold snap earlier in the month has not affected the fitness and well-being of the yard.
