THEWAYOUARE 2YOS FETCH GOOD MONEY AT DBS BREEZE-UP

Thewayouare – progeny sold well at DBS breeze-up

THEWAYYOUARE was responsible for four colts at last week’s Doncaster Bloodstock Sales breeze-up sale and they fetched £201,000 between them, an average of £50,250.

Jamie Osborne, trainer of UAE Derby winner, Toast Of New York (by Thewayyouare) went to £30,000 for a chestnut colt out of a Halling mare. Two of the others went for £26,000 and £55,000 but topping them all was Lot No. 175 out of a Priolo mare which fetched £90,000, the joint seventh most expensive lot of the whole sale.

One hundred and twenty-seven lots were sold over the two day sale and the average was £36,584, making Thewayyouare’s average some 37% higher than the overall sale average.  There was also a significant increase in the young sire’s progeny compared with the Premier Yearling Sale at DBS last year.  Seven of his second crop (including the Solario Racing purchase) went through the ring for an aggregate of £121,000, averaging £17,285.

It was also interesting to note that one of the breeze-up lots had gone through the ring as a yearling last year for £16,000.  He went under the hammer this time for £55,000, a near two and a half fold increase.

All of which leads one to think Solario Racing’s yearling purchase by Thewayouare x Major Minor is looking rather well bought at £18,000.  The two-year-old is being syndicated in 1/12th shares and he is on schedule to make his debut next month.  There are limited shares available.

The soon to be named chestnut is going for a racecourse gallop this Wednesday at Kempton Park.  If you wish to see him, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 to book your place.
