THE BURATINO 2yo, in training with Amy Murphy, certainly caught the eye at Southgate Stables among his Owners and prospective Owners this morning.
It was a glorious day in Newmarket, cold and a tad windy at times but beautifully sunny and just the morning to watch thoroughbreds going through their paces as we moved into the last month of winter.
The morning began at 9.30am with Owners arriving at the yard to be welcomed with a warming coffee or tea and cookies. Amy greeted everyone and mapped out the morning ahead which then proceeded with a tour of the yard.
There followed a photoshoot with the Buratino who was beautifully behaved before we all set off in various cars to see the boy in action on Racecourse Side.
He was one of four 2yos, led by an older Tamayuz, who did a warm-up canter on the all-weather as Owners looked on from a viewing platform. He’s a great mover, something which Amy has admired since he arrived at Southgate Stables in December.
We then walked across the grass to await the Buratino do a canter upsides for only the second time in his life. As the string cantered past, it was all new for these youngsters as they saw all these “strange” people for the first time but they soon got the hang of things.
After driving back to the yard, it was time to see the boy chill out in a play pen and he dutifully posed again with Amy and then yours truly. The tour of the yard was then completed by Amy before another retreat for coffee. It was then off the to the Bedford Lodge for lunch!
A three course lunch, libation and plenty of banter among the Solario Racing (Moulton) owners and those looking to get involved ensued. The one common theme which came up time and time again was how welcoming, enthusiastic and informative Amy was throughout the morning.
Here, here to that!
After a thoroughly enjoyable lunch, Owners made their way home and would-be Owners were trying to talk themselves out of why they shouldn’t get involved!
If you’d like to get involved in a 1/12th share syndicate in a promising, well-bred 2yo, trained by one of Newmarket’s youngest, brightest stars, please contact Solario Racing for details or to arrange a private viewing.
After today, there are only limited shares available…!
