Fighting Temeraire – favourite at Lingfield
FIGHTING TEMERAIRE, one of three stable runners today, has a great chance of getting back on the scoresheet when lining up at Lingfield today at 4.45pm.
He was third at Newmarket last time in a bid to complete a hat-trick but that was a better contest than today’s 0-75 7f handicap and should go close to justifying his 11/8 favourite’s tag. Only seven go to post and Martin Dwyer is in the plate.
At Chelmford, Dean runs Nicky Baby in a Classified Stakes at 6.40pm and his familiar pilot, Sophie Ralston is on board. The grey is not best in at the weights but his sole win in 29 starts was in a similar contest, so he has each-way claims at 6/1 in a moderate contest.
Overbeck makes his debut at the same course in the 7.40, a 1m2f novice and the 33/1 shot will probably struggle to beat the market leaders Junooh and Battle of Paradise. Joey Haynes rides.
