FIGHTING TEMERAIRE could make it third time lucky when he bids to win the 30-runner Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot today (5pm).
The Dean Ivory-trained son of Invincible Spirit has been twice on his last two outings, the last of which was at Haydock when beaten a length behind Out And About, who is favourite for today’s big race. Fighting Temeraire has a four pound pull and there should not be much between them today. Robert Winston, unlucky on Librisa Breeze yesterday, when it looked as though the high draw beat him, is on board the Temeraire who is an each-way price at 12/1.
Dean also runs Pacohontas, who makes his handicap debut in the 8.20 at Lingfield, a 3yo mile handicap on the all-weather. Jack Duern rides the 20/1 shot.
