SOLARIO RACING’S two-year-old Garswood colt has been entered in the Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, a £150,000 race for horses purchased at either Books Three or Four of last autumn’s Tattersalls Yearling Sales.
The race is over six furlongs and is on 5th October 2019 on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile. The first prize is a not to be sneezed at £82,500 purse but also there is prize money down to 10th place. It’s framed to give horses who were relatively inexpensive at the sales a chance of a big pay cheque!
The Garswood colt is one of six entries from Dean Ivory’s stables but this individual is particularly suited by the conditions of the race. Having cost the princely sum of just 15,000 guineas, he gets all the weight allowances! In addition, he looks the ideal type for this race as he has the physique, pedigree and temperament to make a two-year-old who will have experience under his belt before the race in October.
Purchased at Tattersalls Yearling Sales, Book Three last October, he is a good-looking, individual by Group One winner, Garswood out of an Inchinor mare, Pachanga, who has produced five individual winners from seven runners. Garswood was a Group One winning sprinter by Dutch Art and was black type at two, three and four years of age. He was the top rated older sprinter in France in 2014 and is now a Cheveley Park stallion.
The colt’s siblings have won 14 races and they include black type earned by Pachinaaj. The family boasts 2000 Guineas winner, Footstepsinthesand, Champion 2yo filly in Europe, Superstar Leo and Cambridgeshire winner, Chivalry.
So the colt certainly has the pedigree to warrant an entry in such a prestigious and valuable juvenile race. Dean also thinks he has the ability to go with it!
If you would to see the Garswood colt…a horse with a pedigree, ability and a big race entry, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 to arrange a personal, private visit to see him on the gallops.
