TANGRAMM won his fourth ever race today at Kempton under Robert Winston and made it five successes for Dean Ivory this year.
The improving 4yo son of Sakhee’s Secret was having just his ninth run and in his last six races, all for Dean Ivory after moving stables, he has never been out of the first two. Today’s narrow success, a head success over Fern Owl, was sweet revenge for being beaten a head by the runner-up last time out at Wolverhampton.
For trainer, Dean Ivory, this was a fifth win in twenty starts this January at an excellent 25% strike rate. Last year, he had just five winners from January to April yet still finished the year with 36 wins, his second best ever total. So, the portents look good!
