SWEET SIENNA is one of three Dean Ivory runners today and the two-year-old, making her nursery debut over 5f at Chelmsford (6.05pm) has been supported in the market from double figures into 8/1.
The Harbour Watch filly has shown some ability in her first two starts and should find this company more to her liking. She may stuggle to win today against the likes of favourite Gabridan but she has an each-way chance under Robert Winston.
R Bar Open runs in a claimer over a mile half an hour later at Chelmsford. John Egan takes the ride on the 40/1 shot who has very little chance at the weights.
Links Drive Lady is also a big outsider, a 50/1 shot at Newbury in the 5.05, a 7f handicap. On the face of it this multiple 6f winner, who has been out of form of late has little chance but she is often a slow starter and the return to 7f may just help. She is on a winning mark and will appreciate the good to soft conditions. Aflame is the most likely winner but “Links” is overpriced at 50/1. Stable apprentice Jack Duern, who won on the mare in the summer takes off a valuable three pounds.
