Eirene – runs at Donny
TODAY marks the start of the flat turf season and the stable sends out a runner in the first race at 1.50pm, the Cammidge Trophy, with Eirene doing the honours and she is not without her supporters.
Eight go to post in the Listed contest over 6f and the previous course and distance winner, who also boasts a second and a third from three starts at Town Moor is an 8/1 shot and the daughter of Declaration Of War has an each-way shout in a difficult race.
She’s not well in at the weights with several of her opponents, including Equilateral, Invincible Army and Arbalet but as she seems to step up her game when running at Donny, she is not without a squeak. Robert Winston, who has ridden her in 11 of her 14 careers starts, takes the ride.
