Sugar Train (middle) has Festival Bumper entry

SUGAR TRAIN has been entered for the Grade 1 Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham  Festival on Wednesday 11 March.

The 5yo son of Rail Link was an eye-catching second on his racecourse debut last week at Doncaster, when beaten just 4 1/2 lengths by Davy Doubt, who had four previous runs under his belt.  The winner too has been entered as has Sugar Train’s full-brother, Nutcracker Prince, second in a Cheltenham Lister bumper and a subsequent winner.

There are 46 entries, eight of whom come from the powerful Willie Mullins’ yard while other notable entries include David Pipe’s dual winner and £225,000 purchase, Moon Racer and triple-winning Barter’s Hill, a Kalanisi 5yo trained by Ben Pauling.
