SUGAR TRAIN CONFIRMS DONNY DEBUT PROMISE

Sugar Train

Sugar Train

SUGAR TRAIN was third today at Southwell and confirmed that his debut second at Donny was no flash in the pan!

This most laid back of individuals was always handy under Liam Treadwell in the nine-runner two mile bumper but staying is going to be his game and the Good To Firm ground probably did him no favours.  The front two quickened away but after looking as though he would be swallowed up, he stayed on to be beaten just a neck and eight lengths.

The Darley-bred winner, Muthabir, although a 20/1 shot was third, beaten just two lengths on his debut while the second and hot favourite, Sir Will, was a previous winner and had subsequently changed hands for £135,000.

Of course we would love to have won but this was no disgrace and Sugar Train probably needs not just an alarm clock but a flight of hurdles to wake him up!

Another prospective owner came on board today but there are still limited shares available in Sugar Train and Mister Banks, the other horse in the 20-share syndicate.  Please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 for details and to arrange a no-obligation visit to Cropedy Lawn to see both horses on the gallops.
