Stake Acclaim- favourite at Sandown
STAKE ACCLAIM, Dean Ivory’s only runner today and Robert Winston’s only booked ride, looks to have a favourite’s chance in the opener at Sandown today, due off at 2.20pm.
Eight line up for the 0-95 5f handicap and the 89-rated 4yo Acclamation gelding can hopefully make up for a disappointing run when favourite two months ago at Goodwood. However, that was at a time when the stable was not really firing. June saw the yard land eight wins at a 20% strike rate and with Robert Winston back on board today, Stake Acclaim can get back on the wining trail.
Soft going poses no problems as the first of his three wins came on soft ground at Doncaster. The main threat could come from bottom weight, Ladweb but hopefully, Stake Acclaim can justify 13/8 favouritism.
