Spring Romance – 25/1 at Wolverhampton
SPRING ROMANCE is a 25/1 chance in the 7f handicap at Wolverhampton today (5pm) and it is his last chance to show his ability before going to the sales.
He has been disappointing during the last twelve months, failing to hit the frame in all eight races. He is working at home but seems to have lost his way on the track. If he can break well from stall one, he would have a chance but if he gets horses in front of home, the five-times winner always downs tools.
We wish Solario Racing (Berkhamsted) good luck and hope he can sign off on a positive note under George Downing. Dangers include Passing Nod and Frow.
The yard has better chances of hitting the target with Pledge Of Honour in the 10f handicap at Windsor (2.30pm). Providing he doesn’t misbehave at the intersection and unseat his rider as he did two races ago at the course, he has a good each-way chance at 5/1. Liam Keniry rides.
Back at Wolverhampton, George Downing rides Dors Toyboy in the 5.30, the second division of the 7f handicap. The grey is drawn wide in eleven but he has hinted at ability and is capable of winning a small race. Today he’s an 8/1 shot to oblige but he will need to overcome a bad draw.
