Flaming Spear – fancied in the International
FLAMING SPEAR has a good each-way chance in the seven furlong International at Ascot today (3pm), a race previously won by the stable’s Librisa Breeze two years ago.
The Tony Bloom-owned son of Lope De Vega was a good fifth in this year’s Royal Hunt Cup when drawn on the “wrong” side and there is certainly a big handicap in this ex-Kevin Ryan trained chestnut.
Robert Winston rides and at around 8/1, Flaming Spear should cope with the Good to Firm ground, although with possible further rain, who know what ground conditions will prevail?
