SOLARIO RACING started the first day of Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Book 3 in frustration but ended it in elated fashion after securing a lovely, racy colt by Zebedee.
Why the frustration? We were the underbidders very early on for a Poet’s Voice filly at 26,000 guineas. Following that, two other horses on Solario Racing’s shopping list went for 57k guineas and 60k guineas. It was looking like being a very long day!
Step up to the plate Lot 1404, a “bay or brown colt” by Zebedee out of a winning Shamardal mare who has produced two winners from two runners and two foals.
“A nice bodied colt with a really positive, strong walk. He really stuck out in the ring. Very racy and a very intelligent head.”
Not my words but those of Dean Ivory who was very keen to have the colt in training.
I loved the colt and after a morning of hitting the woodwork, eventually struck the back of the net. We went to 23,000 guineas, which was fractionally above the average for a very buoyant first day of Book Three. Dean and I were both thrilled, delighted and a touch surprised to get the horse for the price.
Some Solario Racing owners had come to Tatts to experience the excitement of a Yearling Sale and they did not need much persuasion to have a photo-call with the son of Zebedee!
This very exciting yearling with “two-year-old” written all over him is available in twelfth shares. Please contact the Solario Racing Office for details on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com.
