SOLARIO RACING struck at Tattersalls October Yearling Sales this afternoon with a lovely Holy Roman Emperor colt out of a Galileo mare, Kibini, for a remarkable value for money 13,000 guineas.
Born in early March, he is a closely-coupled individual who walks well and will make a two-year-old. Holy Roman Emperor progeny tend, like their sire to be on the smaller side but this youngster has a bit more size than most.
Holy Roman Emperor was a dual Group One winner and his six crops have so far produced the winners of over 1,000 races and £22.5 million. His winners include quality as well as quantity with many Group One offspring including 1,000 Guineas winner, Homecoming Queen and Mongolia Khan, winner of the Australian and New Zealand Derbys.
So why did this colt only cost 13,000 guineas? After the record-breaking Book One and Book Two of the October Yearling Sales, today’s Book Three saw some return to normality with the average 14.7% down on the corresponding day last year, so there were “bargains” to be had. This could well be one of them! The horse will be syndicated in 1/12th shares and will be trained by Dean Ivory. I anticipate strong interest in this colt, so if you would like to reserve your share and/or find out more details, please contact the Racing Office on 01442 877 597.
