SOLARIO OWNERS WITNESS A NEW KING!

Solario Racing owners

SOLARIO RACING today hosted a hospitality day for its owners at Newbury on the first day of this year’s Classic trials and those present probably witnessed the emergence of a new Abdullah King!

The Greenham was the pre-Classic prep race used by the Sir Henry Cecil-trained Frankel in 2011 when he won by 4l before he put up a stunning performance in the 2000 Guineas.  Today, Kingman running in the same colours but trained by the on fire John Gosden, put up another scintillating performance, winning by 4 1/2l.

Today’s Greenham was a good renewal but not of the same quality as Frankel’s, so the ten-times Group 1 winner can probably rest easily in his stud box!  His standing as the world’s greatest racehorse since the war is certainly not in threat at this stage but make no mistake, Kingman looks a future star.  Bookmakers have reacted to today’s demolition job by promoting him to 7/4 favourite for this year’s 2000 Guineas.

Solario Racing owners enjoyed a wonderful afternoon in The Racegoers’ Restaurant.  Superb viewing, a splendid three-course lunch with champagne flowing throughout and the customary Solario Racing tipping competition won by Jan Williams who led from the start and seemed to hold an unassailable lead until nearly pipped at the post by fellow Red Cossack owner, Mary West.

There was plenty of talk about Solario Racing’s exciting 2yo by sire of the moment Thewayyouare, available in 1/12th shares.  He’s unnamed but due to run soon…so if you’re thinking of dipping your toe into the world of racehorse ownership, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 to arrange a visit to see this exciting 2yo work on the gallops.
