THE LINGFIELD WINTER FESTIVAL has some fantastic prize money on offer and Solario Racing is sending two horses tomorrow for its all-weather flat meeting.
Unfortunately, due to severe frost, Lingfield could not go ahead with the first of its three days but there should be no problems with the all-weather fixture which stages eight races with some £240k on offer and prize money down to five places in all races and six places in the feature race, the Winter Oaks Fillies’ Handicap.
Sharp Distinction is the first Solario Racing runner when he lines up in the opener, a ten-runner 0-75 contest over two miles. He’s done really well since stepping up in trip, having finished runner-up in his last two races at Kempton and Southwell over 2 miles and 1m6f respectively. Again, he should be in the prize money under Stefano Cherchi but the hot favourite, Ehteyat, looks the one to beat.
Dancinginthewoods too has been in fine fettle on the all-weather having been 1st, 2nd and 3rd in his only three starts on an artificial surface. Seven furlongs seems to suit him on the all-weather so that trip is ideal tomorrow in the 0-85 handicap, due off at 2.12pm. He’s nicely drawn, five of ten and Frederick Larson, who has ridden him on all three all-weather starts, gets the ride again, claiming three pounds.
“Woody” is generally 13/2 second favourite overnight and he has a sound each-way chance in a competitive heat.
Amy Murphy, ever eager to seek out decent prize money opportunities, has two other horses running at Lingfield. Tarbaan, is no 16/1 shot in the 1m2f handicap at 1.37pm and has an each-way shout under Frederick Larson, claiming 3lbs while Golden Mayflower has been well supported in the lucky last at 3.57pm, a mile handicap. Stefano Cherchi is on board the 9/1 shot who has his first race after a wind op.
Good luck to all of Amy’s horses who are all syndicate runners and well done to Lingfield Park for arranging a Syndicate Lounge, specifically for syndicate owners. Let’s hope some of Amy’s owners are quaffing Champagne in the lounge during the course of the afternoon!
