SOARING SPIRITS’ win at Nottingham yesterday was Dean Ivory’s fourth winner in the last eleven days.
The 7yo chestnut son of Tamayuz was back to a decent handicap mark and under Robert Winston, he recorded his eighth career win in the 14-runner 6f handicap by three-quarters of a length.
There was a heavily backed 6/4 favourite, Arctic Angel who disappointed and was last but the Dean Ivory runner took full advantage, was always prominent and went to the front inside the final 100yards to win at the rewarding odds of 10/1.
Harper Lodge Farm had made a good start to June, which was the yard’s best month with eight winners last year. This season at the half-way stage, Dean Ivory has recorded four successes.
Dean and the team are edging ever closer to the 400-winner mark, just eight short.
