SOARING SPIRITS faces a monumental task today in the 7f handicap at Brighton (5.20pm) as the 11yo is not only woefully out of form but is running 7lbs out of the handicap.
On the plus side, he has a good record at the seaside track, having won three times there, over 6f, 7f and a mile. It’s an apprentice handicap with 11 runners and Sophie Ralston takes the ride, claiming 3lbs.
Hopefully, the seaside air might revive the horse’s fortunes but the 80/1 outsider needs a lot of the field to underperform for him to win today.
