SIRIUS PROSPECT finished off his season with a win at Kempton yesterday and broke the course record in the process.
The 6yo son of Gone West won the 0-105 handicap over 7f by one and a half lengths from Plucky Dip under Jim Crowley in a time 0.60 seconds faster than standard and exactly a year since his win in a Listed contest at the Sunbury track.
Sirius Prospect has now won ten of his 42 career starts and amassed over £1/4 million in prize money. The horse will now be put away for the season but trainer Dean Ivory will have other runners on the all-weather until the end of the year as he closes in on last year’s record prize money haul. Dean is currently on £360k, just £6 1/2k short of last year’s tally.
Sirius Prospect’s win was also Dean Ivory’s 300th winner since taking out a licence in 2002.
