SIR PRIZE SEEKS TO DOUBLE UP AT KEMPTON

Sir Prize - going for back-to-back Kempton wins

Sir Prize – going for back-to-back Kempton wins

SIR PRIZE, who lived up to his name when winning at 20/1 earlier this month at Kempton, looks to follow up at the Sunbury track with back-to-back wins when lining up in the 7.15, a 1m3f handicap.

The son of Sir Percy is much shorter in the betting this time at around 5/1 and again he’s drawn wide but he was drawn widest of all last time and that didn’t stop him coming from behind to win a shade comfortably.  He’s only gone up 2lbs and though this is an open contest with several in with a shout including Ilhabella Fact and Unit Of Assesment.  However, Sir Percy almost certainly is better than his current rating of 64 and he looks good each-way material  under Robert Winston.

Half an hour earlier at 6.45pm, the stable runs Nezar in a seven runner handicap over 6f.  He’s very weak in the betting, the 22/1 outsider which is three times the forecast odds in the Racing Post!  Clearly there’s no market confidence in the 8yo chestnut son of Mastercraftsman but he could outrun his price.
