Winning bumper horse, Shees A Dante with Corey Jones
SHEE’S A DANTE won a mares’ only bumper at Fakenham on Friday in only her second ever race and continued the good run of form enjoyed by the yard in February.
The 5yo daughter of Westerner has always shaped like a nice horse at home and she was expected to improve from her debut at Taunton last month, when she finished eighth, beaten just 11 1/2 lengths. There was a welter of money for the favourite, Hernello which went off the 6/4 jolly and Shees A Dante consequently drifted out to 22/1.
Hadden Frost gave the mare a fine ride, settling her at the back and despite going the long way round, she was always in contention and quickened clear over a furlong out to win by a comfortable three lengths from Nuisance for owner John Carey.
The stable has sent out two winners and a second from just five runners this month.
