Robert Winston – rides Sharp Distinction

SHARP DISTINCTION, the Solario Racing 2yo by Tamayuz, who cost 22,000 guineas as a yearling, makes his debut today at Kempton in a 7f maiden and he’s really pitched in against the big battalions!

Nine of the 14 have run before including Godolphin’s Night Of Luxury who was second on his debut and the Gosdens’ Blueberry Hill, second, beaten half a length over course and distance on its debut.  The favourite is the other Godolphin runner, the unraced Sense Of Power, who cost 330,000 euros as a foal!

Add into the mix, Shadwell’s Laasudood, who was fifth on his debut, the form of which is working out well and one has a red hot maiden!

The Solario Racing 2yo is drawn wide, 12 of 14, so the 150/1 shot does have it all to do today!  He’s a nice horse for the future and today we hope he learns something under Robert Winston, who is having his first ride back for the yard since returning to the saddle last week.

In terms of the winner, it looks between the market leaders and at 4/1, Blueberry Hill, from stall five, looks a very solid each-way proposition.

Dean’s other two runners today, are both at Brighton but soft conditions will probably prevail against Adace, making his stable debut in the 2.05 and Kerrera in the 3.50.  Both are the mounts of Liam Jones. The former would have a squeak each-way at 100/30 if handling the soft.
