LULU STANFORD was not a twinkle in her grandmother’s never mind her mother’s eye when the singer Lulu had a top ten hit with “Shout” in 1964 but the promising young apprentice had plenty to shout about yesterday after her second consecutive success on Secret Bird for Dean Ivory.

Lulu defied a bad draw (14 of 14) at Chelmsford last month to win and yesterday, drawn 10 of 11, she overcame another wide draw to win comfortably on the 7/2 joint-favourite by two lengths.

Young Lulu is a talented female jockey clearly going places having notched up 18 wins from just 123 rides at a strike rate of 15% in her second season.  Attached to Michael Bell, she has now had two rides and two wins for Dean Ivory!

Secret Bird’s win was his first over the minimum trip but his third in just 12 races and there could be more to come. For Dean Ivory, this was his 35th win of 2016, another record-breaking season with over £615k won in prize money.

If you would like to become part of the Ivory success story, why not join a syndicate with a beautifully bred Zebedee colt trained by Dean and managed by Solario Racing? For details, please call the Solario Racing office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com.
