SAKHEE’S SECRET PROGENY MOVE UP A GEAR

Chiltern Secret - good moving Sakhee's Secret filly

SAKHEE’S SECRET is beginning to make his presence felt as a first season sire and earlier this week, he had his first debutante winner, Belle Intrigue, who won at Brighton for trainer Amanda Perrett.

The 2007 July Cup winner has some 90 yearlings in training and started the season as the bookies’ second favourite to be leading first season sire in terms of wins.  However, his progeny were relatively slow to hit the track which may well be connected with the soft going around the country for much of the season.

Sakhee’s Secret has sired three winners to date but both Rhamnus and Belle Intrigue won despite soft conditions underfoot rather because of them.  The former, trained by Richard Hannon won on his second outing on soft ground by 3 3/4 lengths at Sandown last week and jockey Richard Hughes commented: “He couldn’t get out of the ground for the first 50 yards.”

It is perhaps no surprise that Sakhee’s Secret offspring would prefer better ground as the sire won only one of his five victories on Good to Soft and his crowning glory, a Group One win in the July Cup was on Good To Firm.

Solario Racing has a very exciting filly by Sakhee’s Secret called Chiltern Secret and she, like many of her progeny, is a very good moving individual.  She has been showing up nicely at home and we expect her to make her debut during the next two months.

There are limited shares available, so if you would like to come and see her work, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email us at info@solarioracing.com to arrange a private viewing.
