Rosie’s Premiere – after her debut at Lingfield

ROSIE’S PREMIERE sold well at Tattersalls December Mare Sale yesterday, being knocked down for 100,000 guineas to Haras du Mezeray, a French stud in Normandy.

The 4yo Showcasing filly, owned by one of Dean Ivory’s principal owners, Mrs Heather Yarrow, won three of her 25 starts, over 5-6f and achieved a BHA rating of 93 at her best.

She always showed promise both at home and early on in her career and after finishing fourth on her debut at Lingfield as a 2yo in June 2014, she duly won a fortnight later at Windsor.  She won again as a juvenile, successful at Haydock off a mark of 89 in a 5f nursery and won the following year over 6f at Leicester.

The filly had a second and two fourths this year but never really recaptured her previous form.  Nevertheless, costing 55,000 guineas as a 2yo, this first foal earned £38,000 in prize money and with her 100,000 guineas resale proceeds, she more than paid her way as well as giving the Yarrow family plenty of great days out on the racecourse.

Solario Racing wishes “Rosie” well in her new career as a broodmare.
