Robert Winston – 50 winners on the board
ROBERT WINSTON rode his fiftieth winner of the year today, courtesy of Pensax Lad for trainer, Ronald Harris at Sandown.
Stuck on 49 winners for a few weeks, the former northern-based jockey rides primarily for Dean Ivory but the winners have dried up of late for the Master of Harper Lodge Farm, so Robert has had to plug away and wait for that elusive 50th winner.
Despite the recent quiet spell, Robert still has his best ever strike rate in 21 seasons, 16% and this is the 15th time he has ridden 50 winners or more in a year.
Robert has ridden Roman Legion for Solario Racing in all three of his maiden races to date and we are looking forward to him riding him again over the winter.
