REVIEW OF THE WEEK: SPIRITS AND SEAVIEW PLACED

Soaring Spirits - runs at Brighton

Soaring Spirits – runs at Brighton

LAST week saw the stable send out eight runners and while there were no winners, Soaring Spirits was third at Brighton and Seaview was third in a seller at Leicester and was then claimed for £5,000.

The other notable performance was Artscape, who was making a belated debut at the age of four.  The son of Iffraaj was fourth at 33/1, beaten just 3 1/4 lengths and this was a promising debut.

Just as the stable has been quiet, so has Robert Winston so it was good to see him ride his 50th winner of the season aboard Pensax Lad at Sandown on Friday for trainer, Ronald Harris.

Today, the yard has three runners, one at Kempton and two at Brighton and Soaring Spirits with Robert Winston aboard, looks to have the best chance of troubling the judge at the Sussex track.

One of seven runners in a 7f handicap, due off at 4.30pm, he is still on a winning mark but the handicapper has just about caught up with him and the 4/1 shot will be doing well to beat favourite, Upstaging who has Jim Crowley in the saddle.

Earlier in the afternoon at Brighton, Robert rides Secret Bird at 4pm while Adam Beschizza is aboard juvenile debutante, Vaudieu in the 3.45 at Kempton.  They are 20/1 and 66/1 respectively, so are probably best watched.
