VLADIMIR PUTIN may be grabbing the international headlines with accusations of Russian meddling in the Ukraine but Solario Racing’s Red Cossack is making quiet waves of his own.
The 3yo by Rebellion (Canadian bred not Russian!) went on an away day this morning to work on the beautiful grass gallops at Compton ahead of his forthcoming seasonal reappearance.
On a sunny morning with fabulous clear blue Berkshire skies, Red Cossack did a nice piece of work over a mile with two of trainer Paul Webber’s choicely bred unraced fillies. He gave the fairer sex a fairly good start but picked them up over a furlong out and stretched nicely clear.
Paul was pleased with the work and all being well Red Cossack will head for a 7f handicap during the coming fortnight.
