ONE of the iconic films of the 1950s was Rebel Without A Cause, starring James Dean and Natalie Wood about emotionally confused middle class suburban teenagers.
Solario Racing has it own Rebel, the 2yo colt by Rebellion who although currently unnamed is known as “Rebel” by the stable staff but he most definitely does have a cause! He is an equine athlete with an engine and boy does he like to show it off!
He has been going upsides for a while now and I was at Bowstridge Farm yesterday to see him do a piece on the gallops with Arachnophobia. I have been impressed with this colt every since buying him for £16,000 as a yearling at Doncaster’s Premier Yearling Sales. He has always been a naturally good mover in his slower paces but seeing is believing on the gallops.
Yesterday, Zac Baker rode him in a spin with older horse Arachnophobia, who is always a difficult horse to get off the bridle at home but “Rebel” achieved it with consumate ease.
Don’t take my word for it. Come and see the colt at our Gallops Morning next Sunday 21 April, 11am – 1.30pm. We are expecting a very good turn out among owners and prospective owners and the trainer of the colt, Paul Webber will also be in attendance.
If you wish to come along to see a potential thoroughbred star in the making and enjoy some free Solario champagne hospitality, it is not too late to book. Please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com.
