Stake Acclaim – runs at Sandown

STAKE ACCLAIM is one of two Dean Ivory runners today when lining up for the 5f handicap at Sandown (4.15pm) and this talented son of Acclamation has the ability to go close.

Winner of three of his thirteen starts, he has sometimes disappointed but this 87-rated gelding has plenty of talent and the potential to go further.  With the recent rains at Sandown, the going has changed to Good, Good to Soft in places on the sprint course which will suit as should his number one draw.

Shamshon, the favourite, looks a big threat but Stake Acclaim under Robert Winston, will hopefully be in the right frame of mind to reward each-way backers at 13/2.

Dean’s other runner is Spinning Rose at Chelmsford in the 8.20 a low-grade 10f handicap.  She won a selling handicap over the same distance at Lingfield on her penultimate start but then disappointed over course and distance next time.  She may be one to have reservations about.  Robert Winston rides the 10/1 shot but he looks to have better chances on Eve Johnson Houghton’s Bahamadam in the 6.50.
