PLEDGE OF HONOUR LOOKS READY TO STRIKE

Joey Haynes – rides Pledge Of Honour

PLEDGE OF HONOUR, who has been knocking at the door in his four starts to date with form figures of  33-23, could get his head in front tonight in the 7.30 at Windsor.

One of 10 runners in the 10 furlong handicap, he does have to contend with Good to Soft conditions and a step up in trip but he’s by Shamardal, who coped with soft ground and the increased distance could help.  He’s been well supported into 3/1, Joey Haynes rides and he should go close.

The yard’s other two runners are also interesting runners.  Tropics, who was fourth over 5f at Windsor four weeks ago, is another pound lower and should appreciate the cut in the ground.  Sophie Ralston, who rode him that day, is on board again and at 11/1, the veteran sprinter looks worth an each-way look.

Finally, Oisin Murphy is an eye-catching booking for Dover Light in the lucky last, a mile handicap, due off at 8pm and the very well-supported son of Sir Prancealot, from 12/1 into 5/1, could also reward each-way backers.

All three of the yard’s horses ran well in competitive handicaps on Saturday at Doncaster, Newbury and Newmarket with all being placed.  This follows Laurentia’s win on Friday, so hopefully the stable has turned the corner.  All three should run well tonight.
