PAUL WEBBER TO TRAIN REBELLION COLT

Paul Webber – trains Rebellion colt in 2013

PAUL WEBBER is to train the Rebellion colt for Solario Racing next year and we are delighted to have him on board.

We now have five horses in training and it made sense not to have all one’s eggs in one basket.  If for example, a yard goes down with a virus and all the horses are trained there, then this would have much more impact than if the horses were split between different yards.

Paul trains at a fabulous 200-acre private training establishment at Cropredy Lawn, Mollington near Banbury in Oxfordshire and I have visited the yard on several occasions over the years.  Like Martin, he is a dual purpose trainer but jokes that while many may regard him as more of a jumps trainer, he’s not yet trained a Cheltenham Festival winner but has had two winners at Royal Ascot!

The plan is for the Rebellion colt to stay with Martin and Sarah at Bowstridge Farm until March and after the Cheltenham Festival, he will go to Cropredy Lawn.  When horses change yards there is always the risk of bringing in bugs and it makes sense to wait until after the Festival.

Martin and Sarah have done a good job with the colt and Solario Racing is very appreciative of the preparatory work they have done already and will continue to do during the coming months.

Paul has seen photographs of the colt and the pedigree and said: “I’m delighted to be training for Solario Racing next year.  The Rebellion looks a strong colt, a proper horse and I think for £16 thousand, has been bought very well.  I very much look forward to training him next year for the Solario Racing Banbury Syndicate.”
