OWNERS ENJOY VISIT TO CROPREDY LAWN

On the gallops for 2nd Lot

PAUL WEBBER’S Cropredy Lawn will very soon be home to the very exciting Rebellion colt and on Saturday, some of our owners went to see the fabulous facilities at the 200-acre private training establishment just outside Banbury.

Paul had asked us to arrive for 2nd Lot (a very civilised 9.15am) but as usual yours truly was somewhat early but in plenty of time for coffee, sausages and toast.  (I don’t know from where Paul and his wife, Ku procure their sausages but they really take some beating!)

Once the assembled owners had all arrived, it was down to the gallops where we saw eight horses at exercise including the tough five-times winning mare, Danvilla and the 93-rated flat horse, Deia Sunrise who is a very exciting hurdling prospect.  (But for falling at the last at Ludlow last week, he would have won!)

We then saw Deia Sunrise have a swim in the equine pool and Paul showed us around the yard.  At this time of year, many horses are turned out but he has plenty of fast ground horses in training and indeed he has hit the ground running this new National Hunt season.

Before Saturday, Paul had already struck with Australia Day (now a 140-rated chaser) and on Saturday afternoon he had four runners at Uttoxeter.  Definitely Glad and Firm Order were both placed and Lemon’s Gent, owned by Pink Floyd guitarist and songwriter, Roger Waters won.

Paul is very much looking forward to training the Rebellion colt who we are going to name later this month.  There are only three shares available, so if you would like to get involved in a very exciting 2yo, trained by a Royal Ascot winning-trainer at some of the best training facilities in the country….don’t delay!  Call the Racing Office today on 01442 877 597 to arrange a private viewing.
